 As a new mother of 2 boys and sidelined from the workforce by her husband, Kermit recognized the need for day care for working moms during the 1950s baby boom.  

Kermit started Tiny Tot on the first floor of their home on North Newstead Avenue in St. Louis, MO with four children from the neighborhood and her two- and four-year-old toddlers.
