Augustus, Jr. and Hugh Hill (pictured above) are the sons of Kermit and Augustus Hill, founders of Tiny Tot's Nursery School. In 1951, the brothers became the first students to attend the school, and they were photographed in front of the original Tiny Tot Nursery School on Newstead Ave. in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Augustus Hill, Jr., & Hugh Hill (pictured above) are side by side once more. Dr. Hill attended Beaumont High School before earning his BA degree from Drake University. He later earned his medical degree from University of Missouri Columbia School of Medicine. Dr. Hill is currently a licensed General Surgeon in Maryland.
His older brother, Hugh Hill, graduated from Sumner High School before earning his BA from Dartmouth University. Hugh is a Licensed Health Insurance Broker in Kent, CT.
Rhonda Williams Cross
Rhonda Williams attended Tiny Tot from 1961-1964. At Tiny Tot's 1962 Coronation, she was crowned Queen (above) while Elvis Ballard was King (not pictured). Looking back, Rhonda shared that "Tiny Tot allowed me to have several lifelong friendships & started me on my educational journey." After Tiny Tot, Rhonda attended Ashland Elementary & Lutheran North High School where she reunited with several of her Tiny Tot classmates. Rhonda earned her BA & MS from Southeastern Missouri State University.
Rhonda Williams Cross began her career journey as an Inventory Management Intern with the Army, eventually advancing to Branch Chief. She also consulted for Anheuser Busch before serving as the Director of Information Technology for St. Louis City House Authority. In 2019, Rhonda retired from the Defense Information Systems Agency. As a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she enjoys traveling the world, teaching arts & crafts, and working out.
Theodis W. Graves Jr.
Theodis W. Graves, Jr. (above) graduates from Tiny Tot Nursery School with his 1962 graduating class (below). My best memories were “just being there with the other students & creating lifelong relationships, many of which I still have today." Theodis credits Tiny Tot with laying the foundation for his life's journey, preparing him for academic & professional pursuits. Theodis attended elementary school at Walnut Park, Herzog & River Roads. Lutheran HS North & University of Kansas-Lawrence.
Theodis W. Graves, Jr. served in the US Army from 1981-2004, stationed at KY, IN, Panama, CO & WA, before retiring as a Legal Specialist Military Instructor. In Denver, CO, he worked for FDIC, Child Support Enforcement, Insurance, & Veterans Affairs.
Married with 3 children & 5 grandchildren, he is a Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity member who enjoys music, traveling, photography, art & collecting die cast cars. Theodis feels “blessed to be here, living my best life being a part of our family growth.”
Anne Hollin
Donning a white cap and gown, Anne Hollin graduated from Tiny Tot on June 8, 1969 (see program below). She credits Tiny Tot for preparing her to attend kindergarten early at age 4 and providing an excellent foundation going forward. After Tiny Tot, Anne attended elementary school at St. Paul's Lutheran and St. Matthew's, then Lutheran High School North. In May 1987, she earned her B.S. from Tennessee State University.
Anne Hollin has dedicated 23 years to St. Louis County Family Court, with over 14 spent as the Executive Assistant to the Administrator. She pours her creativity into sHe Handmade Soaps - her handcrafted soap company. Anne stays active with Hope Church - St. Louis and as Co-Board President of Artists First, an open art studio empowering persons with disabilities. She finds joy spending time with family, including 2 sons and 11 grandchildren aged 1 month to 14 years.
Anne Hollin participated in Tiny Tot Nursery School's 17th Graduation Ceremony conducted on Sunday, June 8, 1969.

Vicki Chapman
In 1957–1960, Vicki Chapman, the 1958 Coronation Queen, made lifelong friends at Tiny Tot (pictured with King Boyce Conway). She credits Tiny Tot for her personal growth, saying “I always looked forward to the activities we did every day. Being crowned Queen was the highlight of my time there.” She commends the exceptional teachers and Mrs. Hill for instilling kindness and for her early promotion to 2nd grade at Simmons. Vicki is a proud Sumner HS Class of 1972 graduate with a BA in Psychology.
Vicki Chapman spent nearly 20 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co where she worked as a Revenue Management Rep. After her corporate career, she transitioned to the non-clinical medical sector before retiring in 2019 as a Quality Analyst at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Vicki is active at Clayton Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves on the Health Unit & as Announcing Clerk. In 1974, Vicki pledged the Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc & is now in St. Louis Alumnae Ch.
Marvin Bowser
Marvin Bowser attended Tiny Tot from 1963-65 where he remembers playing on the backyard slide. He recalls Mrs. Hill, her daughter Francene, Mrs. Smith & daughter Carolyn. “Tiny Tot helped us all with our early social development & pre-school learning skills.” Marvin advanced to Bishop Healy Elementary then Lutheran HS North. Afterwards, he enrolled at Central Missouri State & joined Kappa Alpha Psi. Marvin successfully earned his BS in Information System Mgmt/Business Admin at Maryville Univ.
Marvin Bowser's career began at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a Tape Drive Operator, then rose to Technician for black hole projects. At Purina Mills, he was a Batch Production Scheduler, then promoted to Programmer Analyst after college. At Southwestern Bell, his career soared from 1st-line IT Manager to Sr. Tech Architect. After nearly 30 years, in 2019 he retired as a Senior Business Manager. Now, Marvin travels with his wife, plays blues and R&B on bass or guitar, fishes, and camps in an RV.
Stacey Montgomery-Myron
Stacey Montgomery-Myton proudly holds her first diploma at her Tiny Tot Nursery School graduation (pictured above). While at Tiny Tot, Stacey was a member of the queen's court in the annual King and Queen Coronation ceremony. Stacey shared, "Tiny Tot was the beginning of my educational journey for academic excellence. Tiny Tot was not just a fun and caring preschool, but a place of high expectations that motivated you to be your best self."
As a bookend to her educational journey, Stacey Montgomery-Myton is shown here receiving her doctoral degree from Maryville University. Stacey states, "The intentional leadership and vision of Mrs. Hill provided the foundation for what I've achieved today!"
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Dupree
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Dupree fondly recalls her time at Tiny Tot from 1965 to 1970, participating in various activities like the "Springtime in Gay Paree" festival held in April 1967. Of all her teachers, Ms. Cecille Oliver made the greatest impression, inspiring Jackie to pursue a career in education. When Jackie proudly received her Tiny Tot Diploma alongside the graduating class of 1967, it sparked an early passion for knowledge that still shines through today.
Jacquelyn ”Jackie“ Dupree began teaching in September 1985 at Wellston before transitioning to the Special School District. In 2010, Jackie retired after 25 fulfilling years nurturing young minds. Reflecting on her career, she credits Tiny Tot for igniting her passion, stating, "Helping children further their education was the best thing for everyone, especially me." In December 2010, she earned her BA from Harris Stowe State University. Now retired, Jackie enjoys reading and solving puzzles.
