This biography is written in Kermit’s own voice, based on excerpts from her personal letters, interviews and accounts from family and friends. Both anthropologists and historians will value this aspect of history that has seldom been covered before. Kermit’s preserved correspondence from 1940 – 1995 offers a vivid and fact-based glimpse into this historical era with exact dates, movies, radio shows, landmarks, and even weather from that period. Several chapters are taken directly from her writings which not only describe her thoughts but specific individuals and dialogue with relevant excerpts included throughout the biography.
